Tom, the disembodied voice here...
Just a friendly reminder that the Pledge Manager and Survey closes in less than 2 days on the 29th of September - (OH NO! THAT IS THIS SATURDAY!!)
Most Importantly, Everyone Please Note: We will not be able to send you your books and goodies if we do not have your correct address, email or your billing information for the estimated shipping fees. We have updated our shipping fees in Backerkit and you can see them in the pledge manager. So Please, if you have not done so, fill out your survey and pledge manager now. https://the-necronomnomnom.backerkit.com/
Additional Books and Add-ons: Time is running out for Backers if you want to purchase add-ons and additional books. The price of books goes up to pre-order levels as of September 30th. Pre-Order books cost $40 US.
Everyone else who has already finished the pledge manager and survey, a big THANK YOU! You can still access the pledge manager and confirm we have all your correct information.
When will I be billed for the shipping? - The shipping fees, additional books and add-ons will be billed on October 1st so please be aware so there are no surprises.
The Book..
The tome of infinite wonder, frighteningly tasty treats and maddening morsels.. The Necronomnomnom is complete and it is going through final review for manufacturing. We expect roughly late November for Shipping. It hurts my brain knowing that this adventure will soon be fulfilled and your madness can truly begin. Mike and I are still working on all the extras as promised so we are reveling in our madness. The eye that sprouted on my hand a few months back is whispering that it will be worth it! No, I don't know how an eye whispers - Get your Own!!

Backers - we've got your back.
Firstly, we genuinely thank you for the feedback. Your input and suggestions helped improve things for all international backers.
We now have three shipping and fulfillment companies we will work with. One-stop shopping was just not in the Tarot cards (this is all transparent to backers - your book will come from the company that could give you the best price).
We would like to sincerely thank our original partner for graciously putting our backers first - despite the loss of approximately 30% of the volume we intended to transit through them.
International backers will be able to see the changes to their shipping rates in the survey at this time.
Quick summary:
US/CAN - no change.
Australia - A nearly 20% improvement.
Europe sees a 10-30% savings, depending on where you are.
Everyone - handling fees are only charged once, no matter how many books your order This makes addons a much better value for those who wanted/ordered more than one book.
Where declared values and so forth are concerned - our partners have policies to which we must adhere. If we can arrange improvements for you there, we will - but if we can't, we simply can't. VATs and other taxes are the backer's responsibility alone.

Please, please make sure we have your correct and current email so we can send you your digital items! Even if you ordered only a physical book, there are still digital gifts we have for you; like the audiobook and the plain-text recipes!

Tiny update!
We have one quote back from an alternate international shipping partner. We're going over it in detail. It seems to help many, but not all of you. If it turns out to be the option that does the most good, we will have decisions to make. We're hoping to get two more back this week.
We have a way to help some with the taxes and so forth for international backers. More later.
We can extend the survey IF we need to. Not planning on it at this stage, but if it helps, we'll do it.
We have processed discounts for those who pledged "extra" during the initial campaign to get additional books. You should see this in the your survey. These bring things to where they should be. Please reach out directly if you see something amiss. We'll get you squared away.

Well Nomites, Nomettes, and UnmentiNOMbles - they're here! Hellen Die, of Necro Nom-Nom-Nomicon fame sent us two recipes to choose from. We didn't. We thought you, and she, absolutely deserved to get both of them in the book. Now, to prevent your brains from melting outright, we're showing a sample page of each- and saving the whole glorious things for the book. Let us part the veil ever so slightly...

Oh, we'd love to show you more...but we want you delighted and surprised when you have the finished product!
Speaking of which - you've been rattling the gates. The torches out beyond the iron pikes and spooky trees have been waving like lighters at the best interdimensional concert ever held...so it's time to let you in.
Here you will find the *calculated* shipping rates as estimated by our publisher and fulfillment partner. Even if we took the path of waiting for a final book to weigh, things can still change. So we had them put their heads together and weigh the components and shipping materials, and below is what they came up with. We think these will hold. If the price of gas jumps above the price of Star Spawn Ichor per gallon before we can ship...we'll have to adjust. That could happen with a weighed, finished book anyway - so we took what we hope was a smart path, to get you the survey sooner.
Other Locations – Be advised: Our Fulfillment Partner Still Needs to be Able To Actually Reach You!
If you know this is going to be a problem - TURN BACK NOW. We'd love to get you a book - but we have to be able to get you a book!
The survey will be going out shortly. First, there will be a smoke monster test (raaarrrrr!). A few of you will get the survey over the next couple of hours. If all goes well and black tentacles of doom don't erupt from anyone's screen (c'mon - you know you'd love that) - we will proceed to loose the survey servitors upon the rest of you.
Pre-Order/Late Backer's Portal
This is for your jealous friends who missed the campaign, but still want to get in on the fun. Please share this with them - because we want to spread the madness, and so do you. We just know it.
That's the big news! The art is all in, and final proofing is being done. We'll be off to the publisher soon, and expect to have a solid estimate on a shipping date next update!

Addendum - Shipping Cost Questions: Knowing this would be a global project, we deliberately kept the price of the book itself as low as possible. The retail version will be in the neighborhood of $50 USD. Shipping is a bear, we know. Those numbers are not inflated. What you are seeing is shipping and handling combined, so we could give you one number to work with (and additional books carry NO additional handling charges).
Part of what has happened is that the stretch goals all went into the quality and size of the book. Added pages, better materials, all added weight - so the original shipping estimate was for a book that weighed one-third less.
We hope you will find it well worth it, as the book is looking amazing, We are thrilled that people all over the world were interested, but have no control over what it costs to get the book to your specific location. Each region was researched individually to provide as accurate an estimate as possible.

Travelers to the Menus of Madness!
The writing is done! The art is on track to be complete this very month, of which barely a week remains. The submissions of our magnificent backers and munificent collaborators, Miguel Fliguer - author of Cooking with Lovecraft, and Helen Die, Mistress of the Bodacious Black Blog of Biteables: The Necro Nom-Nom-Nomicon - are in! Finished! In fact, Miguel can't wait for you to get eyes on his Albino Penguin Au Vin Blanc - so we're previewing it in this update!
The most unexpected, and one of the coolest things about this project, has been these collaborations. We are SO thrilled to have been able to work with such cool people, and bring our shared interests and audiences together. You're going to love these awesome additions as much as we did. Miguel and Helen have been great partners. And our backers...! Holy heck did they come through! Both recipes fit so well, you'll have to look in the online credits to tell which ones were theirs (unless you know the Secret Names and have the all-seeing eye...). The Formless Spawnghetti and Wilbur Whateley's Dunwich Sandwich (thank you, random con-goer for the title idea...it's a collaboration on a collaboration! The angles! The angles!!!) came out awesome! We can't wait for you to see them. And Helen's TWO recipes... Next update.
The Weight (The screams show, distortion subsides):
We committed to sharing real shipping weights (in order to bring you accurate costs), which we wouldn't have until we had a finished book to actually weigh. That would still be few weeks away, so...we asked our publisher and our fulfillment folks to put their heads together (the results were horrifying - but we got the brainpower we needed!) and weigh the intended components. That *should* be "close enough". This would let us open the pre-order/late pledge/backer survey earlier. What do you think? Science for the win, with forgiveness if we didn't science perfectly and numbers end up a little different? Go faster without *perfect* accuracy, or stay the course and summon a little more patience (where'd I put that scroll...)?
We are so excited to be so close. Once the art and formatting are finished, it's off to the publisher!
