I sit here, with a celebratory Gin and Miskatonic, reflecting on this campaign. What an incredible response. What an incredible start! What an incredible set of Backers!
I want to say, "Who knew?" - but we knew. You knew. An unlikely combination, cosmic horror and fine cuisine? To be sure - but it had appeal, and you saw it. You said - "Yeah - I want to see that happen."
And it's going to.
What happens next?
The funds will wend their way to us, and thence to our partners. That'll take a couple of weeks according to Kickstarter. This is when manuscript-building begins in earnest. Meanwhile, we continue our preparatory work. We'll be cooking, testing, retesting, improving, sketching, writing, translating, laughing maniacally, and hiding secrets in places for the secret-seekers to seek them - and all the other things that will go into this undertaking.
We will keep you up to date. We owe you a reveal on the last stretch goal - and we want that to be the real thing and not just a description. We hope to get you that over the next couple of weeks. We also have some exciting possibilities to explore. We'll say more if they pan out as the enhancements we think they might.
We plan to post work-in-progress updates, so you can get cooking along with us. Heck - we might even put your results in a section in the digital book if you send them to us and they look better than ours! We intend for this to continue to be an engaging and collaborative campaign.
We have recipe submissions to create with two very special backers, and two more from our collaborators (Hellen and Miguel are already started, and we can't wait to get cookin' with them).
We've got one heck of a dinner to plan for our top-tier Backer. That's going to be a ton of fun by itself.
